The challenge
The Polygon is the second brand created by Figtree for SODIC’s Westown development in Cairo. This instalment, designed by the UK’s Wilkinson Eyre architects, provides much needed high quality office space for the area.

Iconic by design, we named the development ‘The Polygon’ after the jagged asymmetric lines that feature heavily in the architecture; both on the exterior facade of the buildings and between the pathways and awnings that connect the blocks.

The thinking
From a marketing perspective, creative breakthrough was essential on this project. Cairo has a serious lack of adequate business space with many offices situated in cramped renovated residential buildings. This is in stark contrast to the Polygon’s plentiful green space, on site amenities, and state of the art angular floor plans which offer companies a range of shapes and spaces to choose from.

The outcome
To capture this, we created an intelligent identity with a futuristic feel using abstract lines and geometric shapes borrowed directly from the architectural design. In terms of art direction, the design is flexible, allowing designers to create their own angular forms which can represent any part of the Polygon. These elements are coupled with a sustainable green, elegant typography and clean layout style.
