The challenge
Cast your mind back to pre-smart phone days when finding something on the mobile internet could take days, if not weeks. Enter ‘82ASK’, an innovative Mobile Find company looking for an ad campaign, or so they thought.
The thinking
82ASK operated on a ‘Ask a question by text, receive an answer by text’ basis. However, for a service all about answers, their name and identity was hard to understand and their benefit not clear.
The actual benefit lay in the value of the service to ‘cash rich, time poor’ customers in desperate need of information. This insight also gave us good steer on the content of their advertising should actually be about - useful stuff and not pub banter.
The outcome
Matching the need for intellectual information, we created an academic look and feel with a bright new name, ‘The Texperts’. To back the identity we crafted an ad campaign around providing really helpful information at times of need.
The work really succeeded and led to the recruitment of an extra 50 question answering experts - a 30% increase on existing staff numbers.
