A public affairs challenge | Jefferson

The challenge
Ian Lindsley left a large public relations firm not do the same thing again but to create a more results orientated public affairs agency. One that took the business of influence seriously.
Working out of a small office with large corporate clients from day one, Ian wanted to get his distinctive approach over in as few words as possible to a demanding audience.

The thinking
We interviewed past, present and potential clients to find out what they were looking for in a public affairs agency and what in particular they felt Ian’s experience brought to the table. Placed against a backdrop of deep scepticism about the low barriers to entry in the industry, we were able to collaboratively develop a serious identity for a serious offer. One that turned its back on counting column inches and instead focused on the quality of its advice.

Jefferson, named after the legendary American democrat, used an understated look and feel with more aggressive and challenging copy to get across their public affairs offer. Instead of trashy merchandise, we developed a notebook that included a series of choices to highlight the role that Jefferson plays in offering quality advice to time-sensitive and stressed CEO’s.

The outcome
Jefferson continues to grow and....
Antony x one of the co-founders says ‘The Figs were clever and fast and really articulated who we were in an identity and narrative that we loved’.
