Not just another conference

Following John Holton’s Beijing design week trip, Simon headed out to Portugal for Lisbon’s first ever Creative Economy Symposium, with the likes of Sir John Sorrell (Founder, London Design Week) David Pearson (Penguin books designer) and other illustrious guest speakers.

“It was wonderful to be on the edge of Europe and amongst so many creative minds all thinking hard about the future with Sir John. The financial crisis has concentrated Portuguese minds and the debate over future business models and the role that creativity will play was real and present, not just another lazy abstract conference” says Simon

Simon presented Figtree’s latest project The Generous Org, which went down a treat and although the crowd was diverse and from varying backgrounds they all shared the same interest in moving forward the economy creatively.
