Sexy Sensibility in Munich

Over the past couple of months we've been talking to a German fashion brand about reviving their image. Perfect timing. The Fig radar has been picking up a new vibe from Germany for a while now. Let’s call it ‘sensible sexy’. In these post-credit crunch times, sensible sexy says that living within your means is cool and mass-consumerism is not only exhausting, it's really quite dull.

So there was only one thing for it – head to Munich (recently voted the world’s most live-able city by Monocle, again) and see if there really is something in the water.

First impressions? Efficient baggage claim, trains running on time, litter-free streets. Definitely German. Definitely sensible. But sexy? Ever hopeful, we wandered the city enjoying the clean air and we came across some things we didn't expect (and not just the Michael Jackson shrine just off Maximilliansplatz).

Sensible sexy is everywhere in Munich. It's about a balanced, relaxed life. It’s about good living. Sensible sexy is a perfectly foamed cappuccino followed by an outdoor swim in the freshwater lakes. It’s surfing on the River Isar, smack bang between a four-lane highway and the US embassy. It’s a home-cooked brunch with friends after a run through the Englischer Garten.

Without sexy the world would be a pretty dull place, especially for a fashion brand with a story to tell. Luckily, Munich has tons of sexy, German-style.
